It’s strange, very strange, to think that the slavery and wars and all the other things wrong with our land are actually happening when you look at the beauty around you. The beauty of a flower in the morning blooming with the mighty Sun as if it were his child. The grace of the smile on the face of the woman who looks at you with love in her heart. The joy of a child’s laugh while playing a game oh hide and seek. She climbed up the stairs and slowly opened the door to her tiny apartment. “Mom?” she said into the darkness “Hello?” nothing, no one was home. She looked around the apartment and saw a note on the table. It said “Samantha, if you happen to come home we’re at the hospital. Your brother fell down the fire escape a little while after you left and is in a coma. We’re visiting him. -Mom.”
